New Books at the PYPL

Borrowed three  books from the PennYan Public Library that were in the new acquisitions section:

“Make Job Loss Work for You: Get over it and get your career back on track”

“Save Your Small Business: 10 crucial strategies to survive hard times or close down and move on”

“Learning Web Design: a beginners guide to (x)HTML, style sheets, and web graphics” — NOTE- this was a new book for the PYPL but this book had OUTDATED recommendations on web design, standards and tips. A little behind the times in the world of websites and internet.

Books….

green apple on stack of 3 red booksAccording to a post in Seth’s Blog (Seth Godin) “the typical American buys precisely one book a year. Of course, this isn’t true, because when it comes to books, there is no typical American. There are a lot of Americans who buy zero books for pleasure each year.” And then there are people like me who can’t walk past a bookstore nor stick to my New Year’s resolution NOT to buy any more books due to limited financial resources.

I’m an avid reader. I use the local public library, trade books with friends, and support the local used book stores and local book sale fund raisers. I’m also a book collector. If I buy a new book I generally keep it. Paperbacks – I’ll trade or swap but not hardbacks. There is something about a hard back book that appeals to me.

So Seth’s post inspired me to keep track of the titles and number of books that I read. it should prove interesting to see my eclectic taste in reading material.
